Preparation & Environment Requirements

Before integrating with HA, ensure your local infrastructure is ready:

• Hardware Power: Connect your AmpVortex-16200 to your speaker array and power it on.
• HA Environment: Ensure you have Home Assistant (OS or Supervised) installed with the Matter (BETA) integration enabled.
• Matter Controller: You will need a Thread/Matter border router compatible with HA (such as the Home Assistant Yellow or a SkyConnect dongle) if using Thread, or a standard network connection for Matter-over-Wi-Fi.
• Companion App: The Home Assistant mobile app is recommended for the initial scanning process.

Standardized Setup (Scan to Connect)

Home Assistant leverages the standard Matter commissioning process for instant discovery:

1. Launch HA App: Open the Home Assistant App on your smartphone.
2. Add Integration: Go to Settings > Devices & Services > Add Integration.
3. Select Matter: Choose “Add Matter Device.”
4. Scan Setup Code: Use your phone’s camera to scan the Matter QR Setup Code on the back panel of the AmpVortex-16200.
5. Local Commissioning: HA will communicate with the device locally to establish a secure link. Once added, the amplifier will appear as a new “Media Player” entity.

Advanced Control & Dual-App Sync

The AmpVortex-16200 functions as a native local device, ensuring zero-latency synchronization:

• Lovelace UI: Add a “Media Control” card to your dashboard to manage volume, play/pause, and mute for every zone.

Two-Way Sync Logic:

AmpVortex App Sync: Home Assistant monitors the state of the AmpVortex-16200 in real-time. If you adjust the volume via the AmpVortex App, the volume_level attribute in HA updates instantly.

State Feedback: Any change made via HA scripts, automations, or physical wall switches linked to HA will be mirrored in the AmpVortex App.

Automation Power: Use HA’s automation engine to “Sync” zones based on motion or time of day.

Voice Interaction (HA Assist)

If you are using Home Assistant Assist (HA’s local voice assistant), you can use natural language:

• “Set the Living Room volume to 50%.”
• “Mute the Patio.”
• “Unmute the Kitchen.”
• “Is the Master Bedroom music playing?”
• “Stop all media players.”
