AmpVortex Professional Amplifier:Wiring Specification & Long-Distance Transmission Distance Guide

In professional residential whole-home audio, commercial background music and luxury CI smart home projects, amplifier wiring distance and cable matching are always the most overlooked but critical technical details. Many installation failures, sound attenuation, distortion and unstable zone output are not caused by the amplifier itself, but by unreasonable speaker cable selection and exceeding the effective transmission distance of constant resistance mode.

As a professional high-fidelity multi-zone streaming amplifier brand, AmpVortex is engineered for fixed installation scenarios, with strict adaptation to 4Ω/8Ω constant resistance speaker loads. Reasonable matching of wire gauge and transmission distance can fully release the sound performance and long-term operation stability of AmpVortex amplifiers.

Constant Resistance Mode Core Transmission Distance Standard(4Ω / 8Ω)

All AmpVortex amplifier models adopt professional constant resistance output design, suitable for conventional passive speaker wiring. The following data is based on standard oxygen-free copper audio cable, with sound attenuation controlled within the professional acceptable range (≤0.2dB, no obvious sound loss):

8Ω Normal Speaker (Most Household & Luxury CI Projects)

  • 5mm² speaker cable:Max transmission distance 10m
  • 5mm² speaker cable:Max transmission distance 20–25m
  • 0mm² speaker cable:Max transmission distance 40–50m
  • 0mm² speaker cable:Max transmission distance 60–70m
  • 10mm² speaker cable:Max transmission distance up to 100m (Engineering limit)

4Ω Low Impedance Speaker (High Power / Large Space Application)

4Ω speakers carry larger operating current, so the effective transmission distance needs to be reduced on the basis of the same wire gauge:

  • 5mm² speaker cable:Max 10–12m
  • 0mm² speaker cable:Max 20–25m
  • 0mm² speaker cable:Max 30–35m

Key Principles for AmpVortex On-Site Installation

  1. Wire gauge determines distance

The thicker the oxygen-free copper cable, the lower the line loss, and the longer the stable transmission distance. Copper-clad aluminum inferior wires must be halved in distance, and are not recommended for AmpVortex formal projects.

  1. Strictly control attenuation threshold

High-fidelity audio projects matching AmpVortex require attenuation controlled within 0.2dB; ordinary commercial background music can be relaxed to 0.5dB; exceeding 1dB will cause thin sound, insufficient low frequency and obvious power loss.

  1. Exceeding the distance must abandon constant resistance

When the actual wiring distance exceeds 50m, it is no longer recommended to use constant resistance wiring. It is necessary to switch to 70V/100V constant voltage system scheme, which can realize stable transmission of hundreds of meters without sound attenuation.

AmpVortex Project Application Suggestion

  • Luxury smart home / villa conventional wiring (within 20m): Priority to use 5mm² oxygen-free copper cable
  • Club, hotel, mall medium and long distance wiring (20–50m): Select 0mm² high purity oxygen-free copper cable
  • Large commercial complex, long corridor wiring (over 50m): Adopt constant voltage audio architecture to avoid the risk of insufficient constant resistance distance

For all CI integrators and engineering dealers, following the standard wire gauge and transmission distance of AmpVortex can effectively avoid post-installation debugging problems, ensure consistent sound performance of each zone, and greatly improve project stability and user experience.
